Movement and Excercise
- Providing an opportunity to spend time with others.
- Making people feel more positive and more likely to keep doing the things they enjoy. Improving some aspects of memory due to repetition of dance moves – so this can help people to have clearer memories and improve focus and attention, whether or not they have dementia.
- Promoting a sense of achievement can have a positive impact on your mental health, giving you more confidence and higher self-esteem.
- Improving cardiac health and blood supply to the brain – which can help with memory.
- Maintaining coordination and balance, thus reducing the risk of falls. Exercises that involve moving different parts of your body in different directions help with this.
- Improving physical fitness by promoting muscle strength and flexible joints, helping people to do things for themselves, such as dressing, cleaning and cooking.
- Improving hand-eye coordination, important for independence in activities such as eating, tying laces or engaging in activities.
- Helping to keep bones strong and reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Improving sleep quality and energy levels.

A Wonderful Experience
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience visiting you yesterday with my Mum. It was very special for me to watch Mum losing herself in the Yoga and actually starting to smile and remember some of the movements that she used to do in Yoga. The Yoga Teacher was great and gave Mum just the right amount of support and positivity that she needed and the other ladies were so welcoming and encouraging. As you saw, your words of care were exactly what she needed to hear and given how scared she had been to come and how shy she was it was great to see her being so open with you. Thank You – J”
